Murrumbeena Wine Bar is a small, owner-run venue created by us in the style we like to drink and dine — warm, relaxed, and genuinely personal.

We don’t have a team of event staff or a big kitchen brigade; it’s just the two of us, making and serving the food, pouring the wine, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Our space is best suited to stand-up, cocktail-style functions where guests can mingle comfortably. The bar features dark timber, oak, and concrete tones — modern, intimate, and built for good conversation.

Food is kept simple but generous: we prepare grazing tables by the metre, complete with whole wheels of cheese, charcuterie, seasonal produce, and  accompaniments. We can also create share platters for smaller groups, designed for easy eating while standing.

If you’re after a large-scale or formal event, we’re probably not the right fit. But if you value good wine, good food, and genuine, personal hospitality in a space that feels like a friend’s place done well — Murrumbeena Wine Bar is ideal.

minimum spends

Murrumbeena Wine Bar is available for private hire when you’d like the whole space to yourself for a special occasion. We’re a small, owner-run venue — just the two of us — and we’ve built the bar to feel like an extension of our own style and the local community that supports us.

Because we’re a small venue and our regular guests are such a big part of who we are, we reserve our busiest nights for private events that make sense for the business. 

Our minimum spends reflect that balance:

Tuesday–Thursday: $2,000 minimum spend

Friday or Saturday: $4,000 minimum spend

Sunday (exclusive hire, 12pm–6pm): $1,000 minimum spend

Fridays and Saturdays are our peak nights, so if you’d like the bar exclusively on one of those evenings, we simply need to ensure it works for both your event and the regular flow of the bar. The higher minimum spend helps us do that while still offering a relaxed, personal experience for you and your guests.
